2019 Ford F-150 Release Date

Fans of the Ford F-150 have been on the lookout for months now trying to determine when they can expect the next year’s model. Fortunately, they won’t have to wait much longer, as the 2019 Ford F-150 release date is slated for the end of 2018 (around the holidays).

At Baierl Ford, we’ve put together this first look, so drivers in Zelienople, Pittsburgh, Butler, and beyond know what to expect from this new pickup truck.

2019 Ford F-150: Performance

The current 2019 Ford F-150 isn’t quite set in stone. Some of its features and specs may change leading up to the release date at the end of 2018. However, there’s plenty of intel that we can start to get excited about.

For example, in this iteration of the pickup, the 3.3L V6 base engine ought to see some enhancements. Last year, it added more power by producing 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. However, Ford added direct fuel injection this year, too, to help boost fuel economy.

There’s also a 2.7L turbo V6 option that you ought to find available in many trims. This engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and can produce as much as 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. In many cases, it eliminates the need for a V8.

Granted, the Ford F-150 is all about power. In the 2019 model, you’ll still have V8 and diesel options for extra horsepower and higher towing capacities.

2019 Ford F-150 Exterior Updates

Whereas some other trucks on the market are adopting more of a curvaceous, sporty look, the 2019 Ford F-150 is intended to maintain some of the freightliner appeal that has for so long underscored that “Ford Tough” motto.

On the outside, it upholds utilitarian contouring to make for a highly aerodynamic body—one that can really rev up when cruising down the highway. The tailgate is expansive, completing this utilitarian look.

Up front, you’ll have numerous headlight and grille options, such as the honeycomb grille available in the Sport package, or the chrome-accented fascias of the King Ranch and Limited trims.

Overall, the 2019 F-150 just places more emphasis on a hardworking body without compromising looks.

F-150 Safety

One thing Ford made a concerted effort to hone in the 2019 F-150 was safety. Fortunately, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has awarded their efforts.

The 2019 Ford F-150 earns a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating from the NHTSA after having passed its crash testing with flying colors.

On one hand, it’s a strong and resilient framework that helps the F-150 to earn this commendation—but its technologies help, too.

For example, at the Lariat trim level or higher, you’ll have access to technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Automatic Emergency Braking. Smart features such as these use sensors and small cameras to predict when accidents may occur and act autonomously to stop them.
