La Roche College Unveils the Baierl Athletic Complex
Tuesday, October 11, 2016

It was a perfect fall afternoon on October 11th at Varischetti Pavilion
as La Roche College announced the naming of the Baierl Athletic Complex.
The complex is home the La Roche Redhawk's various athletic programs,
including baseball, softball and soccer.
The renovated complex has
already had a positive impact on college enrollment among student
athletes. Just this year, there has been an increase in first-year
athletes in nearly all of La Roche's athletic programs, with the men's
and women's soccer teams experiencing the highest number of freshman and
transfer recruits in the college's history. The Baierl Athletic Complex
will also allow La Roche to expand its varsity sports program,
beginning with women's lacrosse.
"The support and
extraordinary generosity of Baierl Automotive and La Roche College
Trustee, Mr. Lee Baierl, played a significant role in making our 'Field
of Dreams' a reality for our student athletes, coaches and loyal La
Roche Redhawk fans," proclaimed La Roche President, Sister Candace
Introcaso, CDP, Ph.D.
Many attendees joined the
dedication ceremony, including student athletes, faculty, staff and
members of La Roche's Board of Trustees. Also in attendance were U.S.
Congressman Keith Rothfus, PA State Representative and Speaker of the
House Mike Turzai, Senator Randy Vulakovich and McCandless Township
Council Member Kim Zachary.
When asked what the
Baierl Athletic Complex meant to him, Baierl Automotive President, Lee
Baierl, said "La Roche's investment in the athletic complex provides
tremendous benefits to student athletes, coaches and the college as a
whole. Plus being an accessible resource to local organizations makes it
invaluable to the community. We're proud to have the Baierl name
associated with an organization that places as much value on our
neighborhoods as it does its students."
