What's New?

The 2025 Ford Explorer enters the new model year with several changes to its design. Only four trims are offered, and the front fascia has been tweaked with a new grille, headlights, and lower air inlets. Design

Performance

Installed in the Ford Explorer is the same powertrain as last year - a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine producing 300 horsepower. In the highest trim, a more powerful turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 400 horsepower is offered. Both engines use a 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive as standard, but all-wheel drive is available.

Technology

Installed in the Ford Explorer is a large infotainment display spanning 13.2 inches and running on Ford's latest software. This new system allows Beaver Falls and Pittsburgh shoppers access to apps and services from Google and Amazon, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

When the vehicle is in the park, the Wi-Fi is expanded to offer passengers streaming and internet browsing as well as playing games via Google Play. And for those who like to crank their music, a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo is standard on all but the base model.

Safety
